55. Importance of Pronouns & More Accusatives (See Quiztests 190-191)
Last time we we looked at pronouns more deeply and in particular their change in case. Pronouns are very important, particularly in conversation because repeating a noun constantly instead of replacing it with a pronoun becomes very repetitive and just sounds plain funny! The list of the pronouns in both Nominative (Subject - provider of action) and Accusative (Object - action happens to) cases appears below.
Nominative Accusative
1 ich = I 2 mich = me
3 du = you 4 dich = you
5 er = he 6 ihn = him
7 sie = she 8 sie = her
9 es = it 10 es = it
11 wir = we 12 uns = us
13 ihr = you 14 euch = you (plural of 'du')
15 Sie = you 16 Sie = you (pol.)
17 sie = they 18 sie = them
Lets' look at just how we can replace nouns with pronouns using the tables above .'
1 Thomas kauft heute einen Computer. Der Computer kostet 500 Euro.
Er (5) kauft ihn heute. Er (5) kostet 500 Euro.

Sie (17) besuchen sie (18) am Wochenende.
3 Meine Schwester und ich rufen jedes Wochenende unsere Oma.
